The TCUs in tropical moist deciduous forest are probably some of the most productive habitats for tigers and their prey, and include Kaziranga-Meghalaya,Kanha-Pench, Simlipal and Indravati Tiger Reserves. The TCUs in tropical moist evergreen forests represent the less common tiger habitats, being largely limited to the upland areas and wetter parts of the Western Ghats, and include the Tiger Reserves of Periyar, Kalakad-Mundathurai, Bandipur and Parambikulam Wildlife Sanctuary.

The methodology used during the tiger census of 2008 extrapolates site-specific densities of tigers, their co-predators and prey derived from camera trap and sign surveys using GIS. Based on the result of these surveys, the total tiger population has been estimated at 1,411 individuals ranging from 1,165 to 1,657 adult and sub-adult tigers of more than 1.5 years of age. The following six landscape complexes comprising several ecological landscapes were surveyed across India based on current tiger occupancy and potential for connectivity:

TEJAS! AN INDIAN DREAM COMING TRUE

Tejas, India’s first Light combat Aircraft has been introduced in the IAF. Tejas is a supersonic fighter jet and it was handed over to the IAF by the defense minister of our nation. It was only after the Initial Operational clearance that A.K. Antony handed over the aircraft to the IAF team. It has been more than 25 years now that we have been dreaming of something like Tejas and finally it will be taking wings. The introduction of the aircraft is not only an achievement for our country, but, to a large extent, it also symbolizes the strength and potential of Indian Air Force and its self sufficiency potential. India, now with the introduction of Tejas has been associated with a league of other nations who can produce combat aircrafts like Russia, USA, France and Britain. By the middle of 2011, the IAF teams plans to induct two teams in the IOC mode. The IAF had already placed orders for 40 LCA’s back in the year 2005. The initial 40 have been powered by American General Electric GE-F404 engines. The estimated value of these 40 aircrafts is over 7,000 crore. Tejas speeds upto Mach 1.4 and is basically a single-seat and a single-engine aircraft. Though it is lightweight in nature, it has the potential of carrying mixed weapon load and also has the caliber of dropping tanks upto 4 tons. It has also been upgraded with the latest digital flight control systems and avionics. Reports say that the IAF will locate its first of the LCA squadrons at its sulur air base near Coimbatore in Tamil Nadu. There also have been several news reports saying that the LCA Tejas is still not a well equipped machine since it has the potential to deliver much more than it has been delivering till date.

It’s only after India had put in the hard work for 27 years that Tejas was introduced. Reports say that Tejas is going to hit the sky in early 2012, only after its final clearance test. The release to service certificate for Tejas has been prepared by CEMILAC. CEMILAC has been thoroughly inspecting the technicalities, design, structure, functions and other aspect of the aircrafts for several months now. Reports say that this is the first time that a military fighter aircraft is being certified for Air force operations. The defense minister, Mr. Antony also exhorted the fact that his team would be supplying more of MK3 aircrafts to the Air Force and Navy. He also added that the DRDO has introduced programs on Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft, which again are the different varieties of Unmanned Air combat Vehicles. Reports say that the trials of the aircraft are going to end by the fag end of this year and it is going to hit the global market by the month of January. The introduction of the air craft speaks volumes about the enhancing technology of the country and its contribution to the global market.
The defense minister also said that the time has finally arrived when India can manage to produce such high quality aircrafts, which may get related to both the sectors; public and private. The introduction of Tejas has also spear-headed an era of high quality production, engineering and design. Tejas Programme had been started 28 years ago to enhance the technologies of the fourth generation fighter aircraft and demonstrate them on two technology demonstrator aircraft.
There was a difference of two generations of technologies at that time. The Tejas team encapsulated ADA, HAL, DRDO, IAF, CEMILAC, DGAQA, PSUs, private industries and academic institutions. Apart from the flight testing technology of the country, Tejas has also enhanced the designing, engineering and testing standards of the nation. It was a combined effort that paved way for Tejas. New Delhi. Intelligence agencies have concluded that Chinese toy guns and bombs, which are being sold as Diwali firecrackers, are actually defective ammunitions that were rejected by the Pakistani army while buying war equipment from China with US aid money. Delhi police had earlier banned such toy guns, but now an inquiry has been ordered to find out how India ended up buying these substandard firearms disguised as firecrackers.

“It’s not a secret that Pakistan buys low cost arms and ammunitions from China with the help of US aid money that it gets to fight terrorism,” an IB source told Faking News, “We had earlier seized similar second-rate guns and explosives from captured Pakistani terrorists – one of the major reasons why 99 percent of terror strikes are stopped – but we now realize that these Diwali toys are made up of similar materials, though of even lower quality.”

After preliminary examination, intelligence agencies could verify that these Chinese Diwali toys were nothing but third-rate defective ammunitions that were most probably rejected by the Pakistani army in last season’s annual bumper sale of arms.

“I think Pakistan refused to buy them even with 50% off festive offer,” the IB source said, “But I wonder how they landed in India. Were they sold off to domestic insurgents groups, who are now trying to sell them off as Diwali firecrackers, or were they sold off as firecrackers to unsuspecting Indian businessmen?”

While the toy guns and bombs could be third-rate pistols and hand-grenades, intelligence agencies are trying to ascertain if other Chinese firecrackers like rockets, flower-pots, sparklers, etc. could also be a part of defective war equipment that were rejected by Pakistan.

“There was a suggestion that the Dragon-brand rocket-bombs could be rejected samples of Hatf or Shaheen missiles, but we thought that to be preposterous,” the IB source candidly admitted, “But we are trying to find out if they were being sold off to Pakistan as an equipment to counter American drone attacks.”

At least five shopkeepers from Delhi have been apprehended for further questioning to unravel the mystery, but experts believe that the incident has exposed India’s strategic as well as economic vulnerability.

“We are still a dumping ground,” Asatya Sen, a leading Economist argued, “Earlier US used to dump their expired and dated goods in India and now China is doing it with even better precision and penetration. Just that this time we are laughing off the threat instead of taking it on.”

When 35-year-old Rayloo suffered excruciating pain in his stomach, he decided to get himself admitted in the hospital. After examining Rayloo, doctors at the Chindwara district hospital in Madhya Pradesh suspected a case of hernia and decided to conduct a routine operation.

But the team of doctors who operated upon Rayloo were in for a shock. What they thought to be hernia turned out to be two ovaries, uterus, fallopian tubes and cervix - the female reproductive organs.

Rayloo, a farmer, hails from Trora village in MP's Betul district. The father of a 14-year-old hadn't suffered any other problems till now.

"Rayloo had been ill and complained of pain in the stomach and the urinary passage. Examinations showed that the patient suffered from inguinal hernias on his left side," resident civil surgeon of Chhindwara district hospital Dr P. K. Shrivastav said.

The medics were of the view that the main cause of Rayloo's extreme pain was inguinal hernias.

Six days after he got admitted in the hospital, Rayloo was put on the operation table. The team of doctors, comprising surgeon Dr V. D. Diwedi, anaesthetist Dr Sonia and assistant nurse Parveen were completely stunned when they discovered the female reproductive organs in Rayloo.

"It was basically a routine hernia repair operation. But when we opened the abdominal cavity, we were surprised to find female genital organs. We found uterus, two ovaries, fallopian tubes and cervix. We have removed the organs through a hysterectomy," Shrivastav claimed.

Rayloo is said to have been as shocked as the doctors.

However, his recovery, according to the medics, is "fantastic" and he will be able to take up routine work in a few weeks.

Doctors said Rayloo's was a case of accidental embryological development. When asked why the patient wasn't menstruating if he had female reproductive organs, Shrivastav explained: "The patient was not physiologically menstruating as the female organs were not fully developed. Moreover, the male genital organs were dominating." Betul district's chief medical health officer (CMHO) Dr S. K. Chauhan said such kind of hysterectomy is extremely rare. "We are looking at the surgical procedure followed in this case", the CMHO added.

We have seen a variety of bananas but mostly they are yellow in colour. There is also another variety of banana that is red in colour ( a reddish-purple skin ) . My son has just crossed the two months mark !! and he is doing fine. Thanks to the almighty for his overall well being.

I am from a Joint family which gradually became clusters of nuclear families after the demise of my grand parents. A joint family according to me is always a best place for a child to grow for the child is guaranteed of collective protection and is afforded collective education in social manners which makes them more compatible with life . Now due to several financial and other socio-economic causes these families are getting extinct by the day . Its heartening as well as disheartening to know of a mother of five children in the contemporary time. Well One can argue that this is something which should not be encouraged as bigger families would put undue stress on the limited resources of the world as well as the family concerned, But if a family has the means to sustain its large number of members then I believe its the best thing to be called a family. I wish ' NA ' a good luck to be able to manage 5 children in modern times. Read more about some one who dares unlike me to sustain a family with more than 5 children. Around 7000 deaths according to Institute of Medicine (IOM) in July 2006 occur in USA, and the figure is not exactly known in India. Most deaths related to wrong medication are not generally reported accurately in India. Many a causes could be listed for these fatalities and the responsibilities are also almost equally shared among the patients, pharmacists, Doctors. With doctors having the lion’s share in these fatal goof ups. We have often come across doctors with handwriting that’s best understood by them. I personally knew a Doctor who was quite good and we often visited him, he also had a Drug store which his wife used to man. All the drugstores in the locality knew about it and always referred us to her store whenever they saw the Doctor’s prescription as none could after their best efforts decipher what the doctor had written. This is not that uncommon phenomenon; its world over, the Doctors are known for bad handwriting owing to various causes including tremendous work pressure, spelling mistakes and also not knowing the exact spelling. This bad handwriting in prescriptions can lead to various fatal complications, more so in presence of so many like sounding drugs that treat completely different ailments in the market. Drugs like ‘Arkamine’ used for treating blood pressure can be confused with ‘Artamine’ used for rheumatoid arthritis. Or ‘Isoprine‘ an intravenous drug to increase blood pressure can be easily confused with ‘Isoptine’ administered orally to reduce blood pressure. The chances of being administered with wrong medicine are greatly enhanced with less educated shop helps at the dispensary dispensing medicine after reading those illegible prescriptions. It is also not uncommon to administer the wrong doses for lack of proper decimal symbols which might make a dose of microgram to milligram which can be fatal especially to children. As if it was not enough, Some doctors tend to uses Latin terms and/or symbols for simple instructions like they would use od/omni die which stands for once daily or bd/tid bis in die for twice a day or a/c ante cibum that means before meals and s on. This problem of bad hand writing with doctors seems to be a world wide concern but not too many are yet overtly concerned, though some places seems to have woken u to these types of mistakes which might prove fatal. In Olympia in USA there is a law that bans a doctor from using cursive handwriting in writing prescription and a doctor is also encouraged to print the prescription instead of manually writing it. Some healthcare institutions banned use of drug abbreviations in their prescriptions and some go in for conducting special classes to improve their doctor’s handwriting. And in India too it seems the faculties discourage undergraduate doctors from using Latin terms and abbreviation of drug name. There are also other measures taken worldwide, but we are yet to see the end of illegible prescription.

Though beauty can never be defined exactly, there are some standards universally accepted as pointers of beauty in a women like a large pair of eyes, symmetric faces , So called ‘baby face’, ‘average face’ etc. Though past researches seems to have proved that people of comparable good looks attract each other and once they hook up they experience a relatively better relationship satisfaction. The study was based mostly on newly-wed couples, and the first couple of years in a relationship can often be deceptive, with no major disagreement and is often like a trance and no studies were carried out on long term couples. According to some research woman world over has a tendency to seek a husband who is soft natured but the same lady would love to date a muscular hunk for shorter duration. To a woman a square jaw, good body and masculine features are an ideal match for a short term date or relationship where as a softer guy would be her more likely choice of her husband as she tends to believe that softer men are more responsible and caring. The choices we make about our spouses are often quite similar and seem to be dictated by some common chord of thought or reasoning throughout the world irrespective of race or creed.

It’s possible to figure out if some really feels for you, or is more interested in a short physical stint by carefully studying their faces. In a study conducted by Durham, St. Andrews and Aberdeen University on 700 heterosexuals revealed ,that though there exist no definite facial pattern to differentiate between lust and love , a whopping majority of 72% figured out correctly the sexual attitude of men and women after being shown them the photographs or facial images of men and women. It showed that men believe that women who have wide eyes and large lips are attractive and it was also noted that men found women who are open to short physical relationship more attractive. Women on the other hand found men who are after long term relationship more desirable. Like it was a common conception of women that masculine men are likely to be more unfaithful than those with softer physic. A man with a square jaw, large nose and small eyes are perceived to be among those who are mostly after lust than love. Such looks according to women are good for dating but bad for settlement. Women were also found to be ready to date a masculine man but prefer a softer man to be her husband. Though it was known for sometimes, that subtle facial expressions can portray a lot of information like the physical status and also some personality traits like introversion. This study probably for the first time established that these subtle facial expressions assist people in making romantic decisions.

India being the largest democracy of the world with six decades of its existence is still in the infancy stage of basic infrastructure in the sense that the very specialized training course and institution to train the Top Political Managers (like elected members of Parliament, State Legislative Assemblies, State Legislative Council, the Hon’ble Ministers, Chairman of Board/Corporation etc) is still nonexistent. Also there is neither any mandatory practice nor constitutional provision in this regard. It is pity that to manage each and every segment of specialized institution both in Academic and Corporate sector, there are specialized training and refresher courses of specific kind of Management; likewise areas of Business Management, Banking & Financial Management, Human Resource Management, Personnel Management, Industrial Management, Forest Management, Environmental Management etc. But alas, the people who run all finer and key portfolios in Government system by virtue of being just the people’s elected political representative in all spheres have neither any requisite minimum standard of knowledge, experience, qualification or competence. Even after resuming such key responsibilities, there is hardly any convention for the specific political-managerial training or refresher course to govern judiciously and effectively.
Although day to day routine system runs through highly competitive, efficient and intelligent bureaucratic machinery, but again their powers and action depends upon such political masters. That is why, often such system fails and the entire nation faces the brunt of whimsical & incompetent political coterie, what has been noticed from time to time. For that reason, even the country had to experience shame in the eyes of international community and nations. It is for this reason that such an important idea is mooted to bring out this unique institution as the crucial need of the entire democratic political set up for the fair and efficient governance.
Hence this meaningful idea is mooted and put forth for taking desired action to establish such unique institution for the overall well being of the mankind through well trained and educated political masters to run the highly sophisticated institutions in routine governance. To bring out such establishment, there is dire necessity for some legal and constitutional steps to be taken. Once such creative institution of eminence with distinct vision and mission takes into action, the future of democracy and overall wellbeing of mankind of not only this vast country will be ensured as well as the said institution will be a torch bearer to the whole democratic world in its true sense of political governance. Since in the absence of skilled and specialized trainings, the proper justification of the well thought and nicely drafted poor men’s manifesto can not be executed by the mighty jurisdictions of elected political authorities (despite the enriched infrastructure, the well trained bureaucracy and the learned academics). Hence, establishment of such institution is the utmost need of the time to save and serve democracy properly.

No doubt, English as a language is language is riches in propagating scientific culture and advancement and the best link-language amongst people from all over the world. But due to the culture being flown through English medium schools, our dear children become quite negligent towards the responsibilities of their parents, elders, and weaker members of society in the lure of so-called smartness, dynamism and the materialistic involvement. The exorbitant amount of fee etc. charged puts an unbearable burden on most of the families of hand–to–mouth.
On the other hand, Government does not answer the uniform syllabi so that all could get reasonable share in lucrative jobs. Also, it is the common man’s problem that it cannot be learnt and expressed so smoothly in a foreign language than in his own mother tongue. Therefore it is high time to crusade against the harmful style and functioning of the traditional English medium schools to preserve our unique and valuable heritage.

Aztecs the famous civilization that could not survive the Spanish invasion and collapsed during 1519, are known for their sophistication in the fields of architecture, engineering, astronomy etc. But latest research suggests that they were probably more intelligent and sophisticated than what we believe. It was always known that the Aztecs followed a system of mathematical calculation but recent analysis of manuscripts dating back to 1540 shows that the Aztec’s possessed more sophisticated and complex method for calculating than what we believed. Using written symbols like hearts, arrows, hands , sun , bones etc. After examining hundreds of drawings from the two manuscripts dating back to 1540 – 1544 showed that the Aztec’s used their own unique system of their own to calculate or figure out say the area of a land or the number or size of an army.

Down with the Communal UPA regime

UPA regime is a serious threat to the nation. It is, at the behest of Sonia Gandhi communalizing the Indian Political scene, to reap electoral benefits at the cost of the secularity and integrity of India. The UPA government in particular and some other local state governments allied to the communal rule of the UPA in general have made it a practice to doll out to sops for Muslims in the guise of minority development. These self serving politicians are all crying for reservations, for Muslims in all possible places of employment and other illogical Muslim appeasement policies, which will soon turn India into a society with two warring section of people Muslims and Hindus. It is a proven fact that and that also acknowledged by UPA regime’s appointed committee namely ‘Justice Sachhar committee report’ that the states ruled by the UPA or other pseudo secular parties like BSP,SP or for that matter CPM etc , that are always eager to shed crocodile tears for Muslims are lagging way behind in terms of development of the Muslims in their respective states in spite of them following several Muslim appeasement schemes. The committee (which itself is controversial in nature due to the fact that it was commissioned to judge or analyze the socio – economic development and status of the Muslims. Where as, no other such studies, were conducted to ascertain the conditions of other minority sections. ) admitted in its report that the Muslims living in states Ruled by BJP or parties belonging to the NDA (so call communal forces of India) are much better off in terms of their socio – economic conditions. Why? Because, with electoral sops and divisive political maneuvers, votes can be managed, but governance can’t be ensured. Good governance is a prime factor for development of a society, irrespective of religion. By providing the much needed good governance or RAJ DHARMA the NDA ruled states achieved success that are unparallel ,in development of their people irrespective of religion. The result is visible Even the MUSLIMS who lags in other places in spite of scores of Muslim appeasement policies, are part of the developed sections of the society and for this development they did not need political SOPS . The flawed approach of the UPA and its policies needs to be undone and that too as soon as possible to save our country. It was heartening to see that the BJP’s party president and veteran leader Rajnath Singh also stressing on the importance of nullifying these appeasement policies of the current regime and promising to withdraw all undue sops to Muslims and regularize the growing disparity among the two main sections of the Indian population if voted to power. This promise itself should suffice to propel its prospect of forming the next government as the general people of India are against having two communally divided society amongst themselves, so they will in all possibility choose the NDA to guide them to a better future free of communal politics and to an era of awakening and prosperity.

Grid ! The new internet that’s 10000 times faster

The Grid. Developed by Cern, a company based in Geneva, has been working on a project called Grid to capture data emerging from the mother of all machines ’The Hadron Collider’( The new controversial particle accelerator built to probe the origin of the universe). The project consisting of 55000 servers (which will go up to 200,000 in the next two years) is built with dedicated fibre optic cables and modern routing centers that do not unnecessarily slow down the flow of traffic. Resulting in speed, that is about 10000 times faster than the typical broad band connection of today. Now how fast is that? For research on new drugs for malaria the Grid was put to use to analyze 140 million compounds. That would have taken a PC with internet around 420 years. High definition video telephony for price of local calls are also a very near possibility with this type of computing power. This immense speed in communication can revolutionize the society. People in near future can with these immense speed collaborate and communicate in ways still unthought-of. While with web we share information on web with Grid we would be sharing computer power and data storage capacity over the internet.

A new dimension in treating cancer.

Fight against breast cancer might soon assume a whole new dimension. Instead of attacking the cancer with chemotherapy , It might be made to sleep and allow the immune system of the body to destroy it. A joint research conducted by Dr. Alex Swarbrick of Garvan Institute , Sydney and Nobel prize winning proffessor J. Michael Bishop suggests. That its possible to encourage or shrink a cancerous growth by switching a gene called Id1 ( responsible for breast cancer) on or off. The research on mice have shown that its possible to trigger the gene Id1 to create tumours. Mammary gland cancers which are very aggressive and tends to spread at a rapid rate has a very high levels of the gene Id1. It was shown that those mice whose concerned gene was switched off lived longer than those whose genes were not switched off. It revealed that when the gene concerned is switched off in 40 % cases the tumors just vanishes.The researchers are upbeat that in near future it might be possible to induce sleep in genes like Id1 responsible for cancer to let the immune system then destroy it.

A study conducted on behalf of World health organisation's International Agency for research on cancer found that hair dressers gets exposed to substances probably Carceogenic during their course of business. For which it was found that a male hair dresser is atleast 20%-60% more likely to be affected with cancer of the bladder compared with general population.

who ever reads this is requested to inform their respective barbers about this occupational hazard so that they can be taking precautionary measures to safe guard them or at least minimise the risk.
