Candles! Should we lit candles?

India in the last couple of years have seen several candle light protests. Protesters were seen holding candle while marching to protest during many recent protest marches. I do not know the ramification or the success rate of such protests and if those protests have yielded any positive results. I am though very sure that those protest marches were never environment friendly, as modern day candles are very rude to the environment. Given the fact that modern candles are prepared from not properly refined paraffin (a petroleum product) which makes it a major cause of environmental pollution. The smoke from the wick of the candles along with unburned hydro carbons can cause terrible disturbances with our health. The risk becomes manifold as candles are generally lit indoors and this particular fact multiplies the health hazards from burning candles.....

It’s sometimes just a silly mistake that proves fatal.

Image
Around 7000 deaths according to Institute of Medicine (IOM) in July 2006 occur in USA, and the figure is not exactly known in India. Most deaths related to wrong medication are not generally reported accurately in India. Many a causes could be listed for these fatalities and the responsibilities are also almost equally shared among the patients, pharmacists, Doctors. With doctors having the lion’s share in these fatal goof ups. We have often come across doctors with handwriting that’s best understood by them. I personally knew a Doctor who was quite good and we often visited him, he also had a Drug store which his wife used to man. All the drugstores in the locality knew about it and always referred us to her store whenever they saw the Doctor’s prescription as none could after their best efforts decipher what the doctor had written. This is not that uncommon phenomenon; its world over, the Doctors are known for bad handwriting owing to various causes including tremendous work pressure...

Can abortions in early years leads toward infertility?

I have seen a confession in a confession site whereby a women confesses of having physical relationship with several people and had two abortions before marriage, now it seems that the lady has developed some complications which prevents her from conceiving a child. I would like to request those knowledgeable people here to clarify if this is scientific. Or is it that the lady has developed conditions leading to her infertility for reasons completely different from her past abortions. Reply By Eden: Do you know if the woman had a legal or illegal termination? If she had an illegal abortion, anything is possible. She may have gotten an infection that was never treated after the procedures. She may have had an instrument used on her that was not the proper way to preform the abortion. Etc. However, assuming she had a legal abortion; it is very unlikely that her fertility issues now are related to the abortions. In a legal, early termination a woman is given either a local or a general ...

It was on the basis of a complaint from the husband that his wife was tested HIV positive while undergoing routine pregnancy tests but the husband was found HIV negative. Now my question is about the clinical possibility of having physical relations with a HIV positive person and yet remain healthy. Or was it just that the the man never had a physical relation with his wife.
