We have seen a variety of bananas but mostly they are yellow in colour. There is also another variety of banana that is red in colour ( a reddish-purple skin ) . These types of bananas are quite similar to the yellow ones we eat. Only its little softer and sweeter with a raspberry-banana flavor . They are generally imported from Costa-rica to USA and are little stouter and plumper ( In India, though , we get red bananas that are about 8 inches and above) than the ordinary yellow bananas we normally consume. These red bananas can be eaten exactly like the yellow ones and these types of bananas are mostly used for preparing those snacks and foods that requires the banana to fried ,baked or roasted. I had suddenly decided to picture the moon one fine evening and took around 15 shots at the moon and only few were good enough to be identified as moon. I am putting two pictures here among those few, for my friends to see.

I have on my recent visit to Digha collected a small snake from the villagers who was about to kill it. I have kept it in a small glass jar but do not know what type of snake is it. If some one recognises it please let me know. Also indicate if you know anything about its care and maintainance.

The Himalayan Salamander (Tylototriton verrucosus Anderson, 1871) is the only species of salamander found in India. It is a unique and rare, tailed amphibian (Order Urodela/Caudata) which is endangered and protected under Schedule II part II of the Indian Wildlife Protection Act, 1972. The marine microorganisms feed on hydrocarbons and other components of the oil and register a high growth rate and therefore are a greater source of nourishment for the fish and other aquatic life forms.
