Family Time - Easter Between Trees
important us feast of the Christians. It is the celebration of
the "Resurrection of Jesus" that is believed to have occurred on the
third day of His crucification around AD 27 to 33. Also referred to as
the season of the Church year (Easter Season or Eastertide), the
festivity is quite popular in the Christian community. One very
important regarding Easter is that traditionally Easter used to last
for the forty days from the actual Easter day till the arrival of
Ascension Day. Now it lasts for fifty days from Easter day until
Pentecost, the first week being the Easter week or the Octave of
Easter. Easter is sometimes called "movable Christian holy day" also.
This is because it is not fixed as per the civil calendar. Each year
it falls a sometime between 22nd March and 25th April as per western
Christianity and during early May as the easter Christian calendar
following the moon cycle.
Sometimes celebration of easter goes beyond the church and people
freak out to celebrate the day with lots of fun, and feasting. As for
these days sending e-wihes, gifting easter bunnies, chocolates boxes,
decoration the party floor with easter eggs are widely seen, taking
the event to a commercial level.
When it comes to Easter, decoration plays a vital role. People tend to
decorate their houses in their very own style giving their own
personal fervor. Colored Easter eggs, easter bunnies, colored stripes,
balloons, bells, Easter trees, Easter wreaths etc. are the commonest
form of decorating components during Easter. Not only decorating the
houses, patios and the party floors, decorating the Easter feast table
is a growing concept. Keeping Easter table centerpieces are the most
inspirational way of coming up with wonderfully decorated Easter
Easter celebration that we find these days is actually a celebration
of mixed culture and tradition. Derived from two ancient traditions --
"Judeo-Christian" and "Pagan", the Easter celebration today does not
completely matches with either of the two. Rather today's Easter
celebration has got a combined flavor of both these traditions that
have celebrated death and resurrection of the Lord following Spring
Equinox for hundreds of years. For instance, the Easter rabbits that
is believed to lay eggs comes from the Pagan tradition.
Easter eggs has a deep relation with the celebration of Easter,
although there is no mention anywhere as to why and from when eggs
actually got associated with Easter. But one thing that could be found
while researching with the history of Easter is that eggs were
actually forbidden during Lent, but brought to the table on the Easter
Day in red colors symbolizing the joy of Easter. This could be a
reason that eggs are still given so much priority during Easter.
However, Easter is really a blasting and fun filled festivities for
Christian and is celebrated in many parts of the world with great
pomp. Kids usually have special fun during the Easter with their
favorite easter bunnies and special easter gifts.
