Picnic Spots in 24 PGS (North)

Taki - On one side of the river Icchamoti its India and the other bank is in Bangladesh. On the side that is in India there is an old settlement and the place is known as Taki. It has great spots for picnic on the river banks and these are managed by locals who charges a modest fee of Rs. 250.00 to 300.00 and offer all facilities for a great Picnic. A joy ride on the river is a must to do activities here to fully enjoy the location.

Machranga Dwip - A small island on River Icchamoti near Hasnabad is Machranga Dwip. A lovely island with lush greenery everywhere is an ideal location for picnic. Parmadan Sanctuary - 



Also known as Bibhuti Bhushan Sanctuary named after the famous writer Bibhuti Bhushan Bandhopaddhay, about one hour drive from Bongaon (India - Bangladesh Border ) is Parmadan Sanctuary where there are beautiful picnic spots inside the jungle. Rs.10.00 will get you an entry ticket to these excellent locations for your picnic inside the sanctuary. One of the major attraction here apart from the greenery and forest is the bathing ghat in Icchamoti river where famous author Bibhuti Bhusan Bandhopaddhay used to bathe regularly. Badu - Makarsapukur and Snake Garden - Very near to the bustling city of Kolkata you find these picnic locations. On the way to barasat there is a place called Maddhyamgram and from Madhyamgram just two kilometers will take you to these beautiful places which can be a perfect place for picnic or an exciting day out .
